We’re back

Our apologies that the website has not been kept up to date during the pandemic. The ice rink was forced to close for much of this time. But we are back now, and hope to maintain regular posts for the rest of the season.

Since the restart players have enjoyed curling on good, fast ice. Also, a new space heating system was installed over the summer, although this has has not been needed as yet.

The (five team) club autumn league is already well advanced. Bill’s team leads the pack, but there is still everyting to play for in the remaining three sessions. See the “competitions” page for resuts and current standings.

Aberdeen U14 Slam Success

Aberdeen Juniors competed in their first event of the season – the RCCC Asham U14 Slam was held on the 2nd of October at Forfar Ice Rink.

The new team of Ethan Brewster, Luke Perrras (APCC), Finlay McGregor (APCC affiliate) and Finlay Williamson made it through the round robin section undefeated before facing Team Grant from Greenacres in the high road semi final. The game was won with the final stone as Aberdeen took a 2 in the 4th end to win the game by a single shot!

The final was a game too far and early season fatigue began to show – the boys collected a well deserved runners up spot in the high road and the points for the Slam series that go with it – the next U14 event is in Aberdeen on the 20th of November 2021.
