Rink and Province Results

The final results from the various Curl Aberdeen and NE Province competitions have now been posted.

Roy Haites’ superleague B team has won promotion to the A division after finishing in the runner up spot, behind Hugh Craigie. The top two teams finished on the same number of points, and Hugh edged it with more ends won. Well done to Roy and his team of Dillan, Titus, Alistair, and Richard. For 2019-20 Roy will be joining Dave Robertson’s team, who will continue in the tough A league after finishing mid table.

Rod Mackenzie’s superleague C team also won promotion from the runner up spot, finishing one point behind Lewis Stephen. Remarkably Rod has moved through the C division in only one year, after winning the D league with a new team last year. Well done to Rod and his team of Philip, Phil, Malcolm, Chloe, and regular sub Angie.

As if that wasnt enough Rod also won the Thursday league in his first season of entering. Bill Morrison finished mid table in the Tuesday scone league, just ahead of Richard Jachnik’s English team.

Karen Shaw won the prize for top lady in the Andrew Mitchell points competition, and Petroleum won the team points competition. Petroleum also won the club bonspiel competition and the Province doubles competition (Ian and Rhiann, as previously reported).

Ian Grigor’s Petroleum 3 team were runners up in the Province A league, just behind M&D. Well done to Ian’s team which included Rhiann, Sarah, Karen, and Chris.

After a closely fought contest Petroleum came top in the double team competition, finishing just above Haddo on shots and ends. Well done to Ronnie and Dillan who led this effort, and to their teams.

And finally, after a season of slightly mixed results Petroleum finished in third place in the Province singles competition, narrowly behind AWW1 and Aberdeen. Well done to team captain Rod Mackenzie and his team.

Not a bad set of results. Prizes will be presented at the Rink AGM on 25th April and at the Province AGM on 30th April.
