For England and Saint George

Congratulations to the Aberdeen based St George’s Curling Club team skipped by Dave Tranmer (Bon Accord Pecten) who won the English Curling Association’s senior men’s competition last weekend in Dumfries. The team included Richard Jachnik and Phil Townsend from Petroleum, together with Bill Brampton (Meldrum & Daviot) and Graham Stanley (Aberdeen). Two teams entered, and the format called for the best of five games. St George’s lost the first game but won the next three to win the competition overall 3-1. The team will now have to source international uniforms and to clear their diaries to represent England at the world senior championships in Stavanger in April.

Congratulations from everyone in Petroleum, and good luck in April.
