A touring party from the US Womens Curling Association visited Curl Aberdeen on Sunday 20th November. The tourists played against five local teams, one of which included Petroleum curlers Rosemary Morrison and Neva Haites. In the morning Neva took some of the visitors on a tour of Aberdeen University’s estate in old Aberdeen, and after the match the visitors were entertained at a dinner with entertainment. The Americans were made to feel welcome and a good time was had by all. Well done ladies !
Petroleum win Club Bonspeil (again)
A team skipped by Ian Grigor entered the rink’s club bonspeil on Saturday 26th November. After three 6-end games, including a very close encounter with Banchory, Petroleum emerged the winners with three wins. One of the gameswas decide when Ian scored a 7 in the 5th end with two superb take out shots. Congratulations to Ian and his team Ronnie Whyte, Rod McKenzie, and Malcolm Watson.
